This is where I currently am with the re-drafting of the review page. I have made a few obvious changes in terms of the format of the text and the colour scheme. I am now trying to reduce the white space surrounding the text in order to make the production look less barren.
This is where I will upload my reasearch, planning, and final production for my A2 media coursework.

Review Page Draft 2 (so far)
This is where I currently am with the re-drafting of the review page. I have made a few obvious changes in terms of the format of the text and the colour scheme. I am now trying to reduce the white space surrounding the text in order to make the production look less barren.
Poster Draft 2
Here is the second draft of my film poster, I had gone to my focus group with my previous draft and they had given me a few improvements to make things such as brightening the image and adding the names of directors and actors in the conventional way of a film poster.
After doing this I presented them with this (draft 2) and once more they asked for a few more changes.
- Change the colour in the 'play' from bright green to a more muted colour in order for it to not be so "in your face".
- Make the eye look more 'glassy' and in depth into the lense of the camera.
- Put the cameras name back on the wing of the camera (Which i had previously removed for 'product placement' reasons.) Putting the name of the camera back on the wing will make it clearer what the camera actually is.
After gaining this feedback I am currently working on a third draft of the poster.

Review Page Draft 1
After making this draft of 'The Review' I handed it to my focus group in order to gain constructive criticism to improve my work. Although the over all style and lay out was correct they gave me a number of things to improve.
- There is usually more than two collumns for text, sometimes 3 or 4.
- "Although the 'audience review' section is a good idea, it is not a convention of film magazines"
- Spelling Errors
- Too many varietys of font

Poster Planning
For the film poster aspect of produection our group has decided to each create a different version of the poster. From this we will be able to pick the best one and incorporate it into our final production.
For my version of the film poster I have created a mock up
template (below) this shows where the tag line and title will be placed. I
chose to put the tag line at the top of the page due to a common code and
convention of film posters being the tag line placed at the top. The title also
is commonly put towards the bottom of the page. I feel that having quite a bare
poster and the image taking up the majority of the page adds a minimalistic
aspect to the poster enabling the audience to focus more on the main image.
The overall concept of the image I am hoping to use is a
camcorder (which is a dominant feature in our film) resting on a shovel (which
the killer uses to kill his victim). This image will be dark and will take a
lot of focus for the audience to grasp the concept however, I feel, will also
be intriguing and unsettling. I aim to make the poster unnerving by adding the
effect of an eye into the camera lens which provokes the idea that someone is
watching the audience (like the murderer is watching his victim).
The title is ‘Documented’ abiding with the idea that our
killer documents his life by film and by keeping trophies. The graphic title
evokes the idea of a typewriter which keeps the idea of documents consistent.
There is also a connotation of blood falling from the text which adds a gory
feel to the title keeping with the horror/thriller genre. The ‘tag line’ will
be in a gothic text with blurred edges in order to add a distorted and
disorientating feel to the poster. I also
aim to make the text of the tagline white with red edges to keep with the
colours of the title.

Chosen Title From Second Ideas
After having consulted our focus group they decided that they preferred this title as opposed to the other as they felt it was darker and easier to read than the other, they also felt it carried an eerie feel.

Film Title Decision
After consulting our focus group, this was the title that was chosen. This title had the most positive reaction and recieved the majorioty vote from our focus group. However we have also created another selection of titles that we will present to our focus group to find another favourite to be used for our film. This will then narrow our title choices down to two titles favoured by our focus group, allowing them to then decide upon a favourite to be used primarily for our film.
Film Title Ideas
Here are the other film title ideas we had, we will consult our ficus group to see which one of these titles they prefer, in order to go alongside the other film title our focus group have chosen.

Screenplay Changes
Our screen play has gone through a few changes in the 2 drafts we have presented. The first being the method of communication between Veronica and her friend, in the first draft you will notice that we use a phone as a form of communication. However, we found that this could become difficult whilst filming due to limitations with space and time, we also wanted to reduce dialogue throughout the film. This is because a code and convention that we have noticed in horror films is little dialogue, this creates more of an eerie tension for the audience which is something we want to portray in our production.
Another change we made was the murder weapon, originally we had thought of using a knife. However, we began brainstorming and realized that a knife may seem to much of a cliche weapon, so we opted for a shovel. Not only did this prop link in well with the film it also enables us to add a new element to the production. A majority of the murders 'screentime' is outside therefore it makes sense for him to have a shovel due to his surroundings. Not only is a shovel a unique option for a weapon it is also easier to use for filming and aids us in having a good ending to our film.
